This video plays with various illustrated concepts, where it shows a friendly face of what is actually hidden from the world. Feeling the rain and sadness inside that no umbrella can prevent or not seeing oneself with the strength and integrity with which the rest of the world sees you… a series of concepts that try to make visible the importance of mental health and knowing oneself, and above all that it is something common in which we don’t have to be alone.
Creating a motion graphics video for World Mental Health Day is crucial for several reasons.
- It helps destigmatize mental health issues by visually representing internal struggles, making them more relatable and understandable.
- Empowers viewers to seek help and support, promoting awareness, education, and dialogue surrounding mental health.
- By acknowledging common struggles and emphasizing the importance of self-care and community support, the video contributes to a more empathetic and supportive society.

Mental health is one of the most neglected areas of public health. Countries spend an average of only 2% of their health budgets on mental health. Close to 1 billion people are living with a mental disorder, 3 million people die each year from harmful alcohol use, and one person dies by suicide every 40 seconds. And let’s not forget the billions of people worldwide who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has had significant additional repercussions on people’s mental health.
World Mental Health Day is commemorated every October 10th; the objective it pursues is to remind us that each individual’s health is the solid foundation for building fulfilling and satisfying lives. This has a strict correlation with the definition of “health” (1946) proposed by the World Health Organization (WHO), which considers it as a “state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Thus, close links are established between physical health and mental health, understanding that they are fundamental pillars for well-being.
Overall, a motion graphics video about mental health on World Mental Health Day serves as a powerful tool for destigmatization, education, and empowerment. By visually depicting the hidden struggles many face and emphasizing the importance of support and self-awareness, the video can make a meaningful impact in promoting mental health awareness and well-being
